The Pragmatic Charter
Hi and welcome to Pragmatic Runner. I thought it would be fitting to outline the charter of this blog in the first post.
In a nutshell the Pragmatic Runner is a site dedicated to relaying scientifically tested running advice in simple and clear writing.
The aim is, over time, to examine various aspects of running with respect to what the current scientific literature has to say. Furthermore, the intent of each investigation will be to result in some practical tips to develop and assist your running life.
I would like to impress upon readers that any recommendations, guidelines, suggestions etc. imparted here on this website are in no way prescriptive and should be subject to testing in your own training. Everyone is different both anatomically and physiologically and therefore will respond differently when applying different methodologies to their running.
Now please don’t think it’s all going to be serious! All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Of course there will be funny anecdotes, stories, reviews and many other running related things along the way. If you have any suggestions for topics to cover, please feel free to shoot me a comment.
Anyway, that’s enough for the Charter. I think you get the point. It’s time to get writing.
